Not much going on today. Levi barked as loudly as he possibly could to let me know that cars were moving by the house - like they do on a daily basis - even though none were actually coming to the house. Actually, Levi has barked at quite a few things today. I suppose that it calls for a list.
Things Levi has barked at today:
- cars driving by house
- cars stopping at the light by house
- construction going on by house
- noises of construction going on by house
- the cat, frolicking past his crate every once in awhile
- me, leaving the house
- me, re-entering the house
- barking at the other dog barking
- barking at the other dog barking back at him for barking
- anything that moves, or he believes to have moved
- really, anything he decides to bark at
I'm sure there's more, however, it's only noon and the list is long.
On the Deanie front, not much movement, either. She is just laying in her crate, knocked out. Yesterday, she got a pedicure, which I'm sure was nice. The people at the PetSmart groomers seemed to like her, and the girl put a bow in her barely-there hair. It was essentially on the back of her neck at the top of her head. It was cute, none-the-less, and made me happy. Deanie did, however, try to pull her foot away from the girl every single time they switched feet. So I'm standing there at the counter hearing, "Deanie. Deanie. Deanie. Deanie. Deanie! Stop! Give me your foot! It would be faster if you just gave me your foot. Deanie... Deanie!" There's nothing like taking Deanie to public places and letting her embarrass you.
Before I took her to the groomer part, I was walking around the store with her and the trainer walked up with her mellow, well-behaved dog. I'm not sure this needs any more explanation. Deanie was immediately at arms - literally - trying to grab this dog's head and bring him closer to her for her to lick his ears and face. Oh yes, and while she was this high up from her usual spot on the ground, she happened to notice the bowl of dog treats near the training information. This sparked her interest and she decided she needed a treat RIGHT THEN and attempted to get it herself. The trainer grabbed a treat and told her she could have it if she sat. This did not happen. I'm not sure she would have sat for anything. She had worked herself up on that stupid treat so much that she was jumping out of her skin to get it. Trainer-lady gave it to her anyway. Which I find amusing, since she is infact, the trainer-lady.
"& Co." - Heath and Pierre are their usual selves. Quiet and well behaved. Oh, to be the lucky people who don't have dogs that, at every turn, want to embarrass them and do things like... oh, say... sprint across the field at a pee-wee softball game.
